California: Napa Valley – 4-Day Bachelorette Destination Trip

Pride Mountain Vineyards

Located in Northern California, Napa Valley is home to over 500 wineries and vineyards with beautiful landscapes to admire. This past week, I was invited on a Bachelorette trip to check out what this popular destination had to offer. It was an absolutely wonderful adventure and I hope that I can answer some burning questions about how to enjoy Napa Valley!

What is appropriate attire in Napa Valley?

Dress to look your best but also to enjoy the great outdoors. Having never been on a wine tour, I searched social media to see what typical tourists wore. I discovered that Napa Valley tourists all dress to look their best! In March, the weather in California ranged between 50-80 degrees F (10-26.6 degrees C) so I prepared for warm and chilly weather! It was a good call because the temperature decreased throughout the day, but our wine tours took us through the cold wine caves. In addition, make sure to bring shoes that are comfortable for walking. Check out my photos below to see what my group and I wore during our tours!

The wine caves, like this one at Pride Vineyards, are very chilly. Our jean jackets, cardigans and long sleeves kept us warm!
We went outdoors to enjoy the view of the Pride Vineyards. We took off our jackets and some of us put on sunglasses and showed off our rompers and dresses.
We took an outdoor picture at Mira Winery. with our Bachelorette trip shirts! They paired nicely with dark pants/jeans.
Once the temperature went down, my cardigan kept me nice and warm!

In the distance is the line that divides the vineyards between Napa and Sonoma!

This was once a mountain ranch that was founded by a couple named Jim and Carolyn Pride. After spending weekends fixing it up and farming the grapes themselves, it became Pride Mountain Vineyards. One fun fact that was highlighted on the tour is that it is divided by the Napa/Sonoma county line. Not only is there a fascinating wine cave to explore, the view is spectacular.

2. Wheeler Farms

Wheeler Farms is full of farm animals, flowers, and surrounded by mountains.

Wheeler Farms was established in 1871 by Charles H. Wheeler and eventually expanded to eleven acres of property. Today, it is home to a tree orchard, gardens, chickens and bees and offers classic Napa Valley wine and unique cuisine. The tour was off to a great start when we were greeted with wine glasses.

3. Mira Winery

Mira Winery has spectacular views!

This sixteen acre estate is located in the heart of the Napa Valley. The views from Mira Winery are easy on the eyes and the interior design of the estate is one-of-a-kind. This place is nearby Napa, CA which is a lovely downtown area with great restaurants.

4. CADE Estate Winery

Outdoor patio at CADE Estate Winery.

On our visit to CADE Estate Winery, we were seated outside with a selection of wine, cheese, and chocolate. On the outdoor patio, there was a great view of the mountains and a small infinity pool (not made for swimming. Although every stop on our itinerary was beautiful, this one absolutely took our breaths away.

Is there anything else to do in Napa Valley other than drink wine?

Yes there are so many options! Although the hottest activities to do in Napa Valley are the wine tours, there are definitely other choices to add to your itinerary. People who do not drink can still do other outdoor activities including kayaking in Lake Sonoma, horseback riding, and strolling through the Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve. Visitors will not be disappointed!

Reflection: To be honest, although I enjoy the occasional glass of win, I am not a sommelier. However, I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Napa Valley, especially with the wonderful group of women that I went with. This is a suitable destination trip for Bachelorette trips, family gatherings, or even with a few friends. Someday, I plan to return to Napa Valley because, wine-not?
